Greg Downey & Bo Bruce – Another Sun

Hot off the back of ‘Take Flight’ – last month’s Beatport #1 collaboration with Aly & Fila, Greg Downey presents us with another high calibre collaboration proposition.

If his and The Voice singer Bo Bruce’s names look familiar next to one another, it’s for plenty good reason. In fact it may even have been Greg who first introduced Bo to the world of electronic music world, when she collaborated with him and Simon Patterson on 2011’s ‘Come With Me’.

Since then, the UK-born/based vocalist has gone on the record with the likes of Kryder, PvD, Gareth Emery, Chicane and numerous others. She & Greg clearly share a special production bond though, as – following 2015’s unforgettable ‘These Hands I Hold’, they’re back together with the touching, yet floor-torching ‘Another Sun’.

With studio work that puts all hands to the pump, musically, Greg guns straight for primetime. Rolling drums, toughened percussion, bass-bounce and angular FX mark out its rise, as he builds a mighty head of pressure for the production.

Through the power of her voice and authentic delivery, Bo brilliantly walks the tonal tightrope between lamenting verse and uplifting chorus. Her words speak to hope, second chances and a love that’s coming around again. Telling you exactly how it is, in the drop Bo places heart on sleeve with her “we’ve only begun – we are not done” vocals, which rise in tandem with Greg’s storm’s-rising synths.

A track where only the hardest hearts will go untouched, ‘Another Sun’s coming in hot this week and aiming straight for your emotional Achilles. A true sing-along anthem in the making, all wrapped up in a floor-roaring production, you can find it hereabouts.
