Activa follows up ‘Return To Life’ with powerful instrumental cut, ‘Polestar’

Less a tip-of-the-hat to Volvo’s new electric vehicle and more (we guess at least!) a salute to Polestars of the more celestial variety, Activa draws inspiration from the heavens to bring us his epic-in-scale-&-sound latest.

With it Rob Stevenson plays another highly anticipated single card from his forthcoming album pack, and one certain to resonate with fans of his early work. After April’s Shannon Hurley-sung ‘Return To Life’, ‘Polestar’ flips the studio polarity from vocal-led collaboration to a solo, instrumentally themed number.

If there’s one production aspect Activa knows above all others it’s melodics, and putting heart into that harmonic art, he channels all his know-how into ‘Polestar’. Over its opening minutes, superbly written, classically constructed note arrangements chime with its trilling, thrilling descants, all of which conjure atmospheres most galactic.

As with so many of Rob’s releases though, while the mid and treble elements sit most visibly in the foreground, behind them lies the real power. The track’s kicks, bass and 303 subtleties covertly energise its production, allowing its beauty to arrive atop some proper floor-propelling ‘beast’!

A track for true trance lovers from across the genre-spectrum, Activa’s next album precursor drops today!
