Jonny Miller has spent the last 24 years immersed in the underground electronic music
scene. His roots lie in the early 90s dance music scene in London and over the years his
sound has evolved with the times and moved effortlessly between the genres. In Jonny
Miller DJ sets you’ll hear the deep soulful house groove, afro-house, broken beat, classic
disco, beat heavy downtempo joints, choice classics and even the odd forward thinking
bass music track. Soul and quality links everything together.
The last few years have been pretty busy for Jonny. He’s spent time in Ibiza playing at the
beautiful beach terrace bar La Escorella, he’s played once again at The infamous
Southport Weekender festival and he’s appearing at their sister festival in Croatia,
Suncebeat. Jonny has recently been co-running the UK’s leading afro-house club night
Hoja – playing alongside the likes of Pascal Morais, Rancido and D-Malice at their
infamous Sunday everning rooftop parties down in South London.
He’s continued to work on his own music productions and remixes with releases for likes
of Tribe Records, Soul Candi and The Atjazz Record Company, he’s collaborated on
tracks with artists such as DJ Whisky, D-Malice and Lay-Far in addition to engineering
for New York’s finest, Victor Simonelli and UK underground music legend, Goldie.
In recent years Jonny has visited the motherland a fair few times; South Africa, its music
and culture are very important in Jonny’s day to day world. He’s spun at clubs around the
country including Cape Town’s Fiction and Assembly clubs and featured at Bassline, 12-
Decades and Kitcheners in Johannesburg. In Soweto, Jonny has played ar Vintage
Lounge and the hugely respected Thesis Social Jam and of course, he’s spun at his friend
Kid Fonque’s now legendary #2Sides of the Beat parties.
